Acrylic on Canvas
8" x 10"
We were leaving Kroondal, a village near Rustenburg, South Africa, after ministering there. Driving into the sun, the scene was pretty if you were looking for it. I think those in the car with me thought me a bit strange when I asked the driver to stop so I could snap the picture, the photo I worked from for this painting. These common scenes have a beauty to them. Both buildings in the painting are typical of the houses in this village, very small tin or cinder block structures. And because such rural villages often don't have trash service, rising smoke is a common sight.
